Welcome to another exciting year in 7th Grade Reading!!!! Reading will take us to many exciting places this year and I look forward to our journey together.

We will travel to the previous century as we explore The Holocaust through the novel, Number the Stars by Lois Lowrey, as well as poetry and media. Our learning will culminate with butterflies created to show our mastery of symbolism. The butterflies will then be sent to the Holocaust Museum Houston to be a part of the display containing 1.5 million butterflies made by school children around the world. This number symbolizes the estimated 1.5 million children who perished during this terrible time in our world's history.
