Each year students come to school on that first day and have all kinds of resolutions that they plan to undertake throughout the year. Those resolutions may be to keep their locker neat, write down homework assignments daily, or they may be looking at a larger leap by wanting to make better grades. Help your child plan short term and long term goals for the year. Write them down and be as specific as possible. Then make sure that your child has a reward for themselves when they reach a goal, or when that goal is met each time. If the child uses steps to meet the long term goals then they can reward themselves each time a step is obtained. That way the goal doesn't seem so out of reach. |
